Gabrielle R. Bonhomme, MD, is the Director of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Service of the UPMC Eye Center, Director of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology.  Her research interests include improving the evaluation of the efficacy of venous sinus stenting in subjects with vision loss due to IIH (OPEN-UP study), the diagnosis of para-neoplastic syndromes affecting the vision of subjects with lung cancer, creating an algorithm to predict post-operative results in subjects with vision-threatening anterior visual pathway tumors, creating a multi-disciplinary Longitudinal Database of subjects with PCA strokes to study using OCT and fMRI, and DTI  Techniques, and investigating the use of HDFT MRI post-processing technique in pre-operative planning.  She serves as the only full-time fellowship trained adult Neuro-Ophthalmologist for the UPMC system, with a referral base of 500 square miles  of patients from Neurologists, Ophthalmologists and Neurosurgeons.
