Dr. Kirsten Winter completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern Maine. She graduated with a doctorate in optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry and went on to complete an ocular disease residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Vision Institute. As part of the inaugural class of optometry residents at UPMC, she rotated through ophthalmology subspecialty clinics, including retina, uveitis, glaucoma, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, and the emergency department. She is now a clinical assistant professor in the department of ophthalmology. She is passionate about ocular acute care, neuro-optometry, and comprehensive eye care. In her spare time, she enjoys walking with her greyhound and her husband, reading, and refurbishing furniture
